Custom Leather Goods

Custom means just that.  All items are made to your specifications.  Furthermore, they are 100% hand-made.  We don't keep any items in stock.  Everythng is made to order and prices may vary depending on the client's specifications.  No work will begin until all details, including price, are agreed upon.

It also means that no two items ever look identical.  The photos shown on the Products page are only to give you an idea of how you might like your product to look.

If you ever have any questions about any of the items on the Products page or about anything you might be looking for, please contact me.

Personalized Items

Items that are personalized with names, initials or other marks identifying a particular person or entity, require a 50% deposit before any work can begin.

Pricing and Payments

We can now accept payment using many different credit cards using PayPal.  You do not need a PayPal account in order to pay by credit card.  We can also accept payment by cash (if you are local) or by deposit to our bank account. We have accounts in both the US and Peru.

All prices shown are in US Dollars.

Prices on the Spanish pages are shown in Peruvian Soles.

Shipping

FREE SHIPPING to anywhere in the United States!

All items are shipped via SERPOST Priority Mail from Chaclacayo, Lima, Peru.

Transit time to US destinations can be anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks, but most things arrive in about a week.

Products

The Products page has descriptions of several items I have made recently, but these are not the only things I make.  If you are looking for something that you don't see pictured here, please don't hesitate to ask for it.  Even if it's something I can't make (like a saddle), I have lots of contact with other leathercrafters through the guild and can probably find you at least one who can give you what you're looking for.

About Me

I began doing leathercraft when I was a teenager just out of high school and I worked at it as a hobby for about fifteen years.  After I graduated from college, I started working as a mainframe computer programmer and eventually started my own consultancy.  As a result, I had no time for any kind of hobby and the leather work got relegated to a closet somewhere. I don't even know what happened to my tools, but they were somehow lost during that time.

After I retired, the missus and I moved to Peru, where she was born. I arrived here four days prior to the 9/11 attacks. Having lots of free time on my hands, I decided to take up my old hobby again.  It wasn't an easy undertaking because the tools necessary for carving leather just are not available in Peru and even those for the many other tasks in leathercraft are quite primitive.  It took a long time and lots of money to acquire everything I needed... and I still find that I need something I don't have from time to time.

I started out just making gifts for all my grandchildren and other family members, but it seems that each gift prompted inquiries from other people, so I decided to put up this site so that anyone interested can get a better idea of  what things I have done.  Even if something isn't listed here doesn't mean I can't make it, and even if I can't make it, I can probably recommend someone who can, so don't hesitate to ask for whatever you might want.
